Arizona-- Here we come!

Andy & I made a trip to Flagstaff, Arizona this past weekend. It was a great time to get away and we had so much fun. It was a humbling trip as we were in some of the most beautiful scenery and weather! A couple from Watermark have invited us to help them plant a church in Flagstaff, so we went to see what it was all about and search for God's direction in leading us. Lots of praying and just being still before Him.

Where do we go?? This sign cracked us up--- Flagstaff is in a great spot...5 hours from Colorado, 3 from Vegas, and 5 from Los Angeles.

This is our rental car...we called her "Faith"...as we weren't sure she would make it up some of those mountains. We would give her some encouragement and she did awesome-- not to mention great gas mileage!

Driving into Sedona from Phoenix

We had lunch at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the great weather...this was our view!

Grand Canyon!

Truly breathtaking!

The background almost looks fake, but I assure you, it was REAL and one of God's best!

Sedona- Scenic Overlook at the Airport

We climbed on top of this large rock, behind us in a 1000 ft drop!

Couldn't resist taking a pic of this house...amazing!!!

Chapel with 500 ft. cross in the mountainside. One of those true God moments...Andy and I sat inside listening to a song on my ipod and I prayed thanking God for all his blessings....

Pic taken from the car, you can see how it is in the mountain.
A HUGE thanks to Mike, Mark, Brenda, Rob, etc. for an incredible trip. We appreciate all the meals, talks, stories, and encouragement.

Let's Carve a Pumpkin

Watermark held a Pumpkin Party for the 1st-3rd grade girls & their families last Friday night at Churchill Way Park. Several families came, see pics below of our friends that showed up. We had a great group and the kids had a ball!!
Notice, you don't see Carter or Carson or Jeremi...go figure...they are in the big field close by playing football! Guess pumpkin carving wasn't fun enough!!
Time to get carving...took us 10 minutes to get the top off!

Everett & Emily came with their 3 girls. We are so happy to have them close in our neighborhood and at Watermark with us!

Mindi & Livi...love sharing life with the Patti's. :)

The Weiss family came and joined all of us in carving our pumpkins too! Always nice to see them and hug on the girls!

Kayla & Sarah busy carving their pumpkins too!

Kate asked Dad to help, guess he's better at it than Mom!
Kate is taking out all the "sin" in the pumpkin, removing all the junk that we all have in our hearts and that is "yucky", as Kate says.

Kate was so happy when we were done...this pumpkin was so thick, it took a while to cut through it.

Happy Kate and great looking pumpkin!!

Love the cross nose and fish eyes...great night of fun!
Thanks Watermark for organizing a great family event!

Cub Scout Campout

Carter's Cub Scout pack went camping a few weeks ago. Here is a pic of some of the boys, mostly 5th graders. Everyone had a good time and loved just being outside.

The Pack is able to camp for free by performing a service project for the park. This year the Pack had to stabilize the trees by tying them to poles. As you can see, this was needed...the first tree is almost touching the ground. They tied up about 20 trees with good attitudes and willingness to cooperate with each other.

Andy & Carter ready to serve!!

Kayla tying up the tree.

Carson looked busy, but it didn't last long! :)

Kate was also a big help, as usual...she loves getting "jobs" to do.

Carter helping to secure the trees.

Andy took them fishing...no luck, no bites, but fun!!

We ended up leaving shortly after this pic was taken, peaceful huh, well not for long...A huge storm hit and we packed up to head back to Dallas. Good thing as there were storms in that area the entire next day too.

All in all, good camp trip just too short...Better luck next year.
